Samuel S. Edmondson
DOB:  October 31, 1839 DOD:  February 12, 1894 Age at Enlistment: 21 Date of Enlistment:  May 9, 1861 Place of Enlistment:  Franklin, TN Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  None Comments:  James grew up in District 16 in the North Eastern corner of Williamson County, on what is now called Edmondson Pike.  He was the brother of James Edmondson and also first cousins with the three Winstead brothers (who also served in the Williamson Grays) through his mother.  Samuel was sick at Bath Springs, VA in September and October of 1861.  He was discharged on December 14, 1861 at Huntersville, VA for chronic rheumatism.  Described on his discharge papers he is described as Height: 5'8", Complexion: Light, Eyes: Gray, Hair: Light, and Occupation: Farmer.  After the war he married Elizabeth Hun in Williamson County on November 26, 1868.  The couple had eight children.  He continued farming in District 16 until his death in 1894.
