Crutcher.  Joseph was elected 3rd Corporal at Camp Cheatham at the Company’s formation and elected 2nd Lieutenant at Regiment’s reorganization April 30, 1862 at Tupelo, MS.  His wound at Perryville was not severe enough for him to be left behind to be captured.  After being wounded at Missionary Ridge spent rest of the war in hospitals.  In March 1865 a medical examination board stated he was unfit for duty and that he was in constant pain from his wounds.  He was took the oath of allegiance and was paroled on May 12, 1865 and his record describes him as:  Hair: Dark, Eyes: Gray, Complexion: Fair, Height: 5’8”.  No record of Joseph following the war has been found.
